With The Caretaker now consumed by dementia, it is unsurprising to find the recordings here cloaked in heavy fogs of static. The cold, eerie soundscapes find The Caretaker’s musical memories - including those of his own back catalogue - jumbled and struggling for air. Stage 6 is a strangely beautiful collection, and one that is a fitting full stop on a hugely impressive body of work
